Allow me to introduce myself! December 3, 2008
Aphrodite & Adonis has delved into the realm of jewelry design!!! How exciting!
I will start by telling you a little bit about myself and what I am about… My name is Sheena. I currently sugar out of a holistic & welness clinic in downtown St. Catharines. I recently lost my full time job as an Administrative Assistant at a design and consulting firm due to “lack of sustainable work…” I have been sugaring since the end of August, but due to afore mentioned events, have decided to put all my energy into sugaring and my newly found love of jewelry design!
For those of you that are unfamiliar… Sugaring or Sugarbrig, which is what I do, is the Egyptian form of hair removal. Using a 100% oragnic (and totally edible!!) paste, I quickly and quite painlessly remove the hair from your body. Don’t get me wrong… it’s not entirely painless, but after the first round, you will barely feel a thing. I have clients tell me it feels like I am massaging them…
As for my jewelry… oh how I love to make stuff!! I will be posting pics soon. The reason I set up this blog is to, hopefully, get some exposure to my work… I have been getting excellent feedback so far, so I would like to see what everyone else thinks of my stuff as well! I choose to work with gemstones and swarovski crystals. Most of my stuff is made with sterling silver or non-tarnish silver, but I also use lead & nickel free stuff as well. So those of you (like me!) who have sensitive ears can easily wear ALL my stuff without irritation. Antique copper and gold can be used as well…
